People who need care and support often require support with their medication.

Adult social care services have a responsibility to ensure the proper and safe use of medicines, and that staff responsible for the management and administration of medication are suitably trained and competent.

不良研究所 urges all relevant social care employers to sign up to . STOMP aims to raise awareness about stopping the over-medication of people with a learning disability and/or autistic people. 
 

Additional medication training resources

Following induction, staff responsible for the management and administration of medication will need to be suitably trained to ensure that they're competent, and their competence must be regularly reviewed.

Care Certificate

The CQC expects all providers to induct staff in line with the standards set out in the Care Certificate. 'Standard 13: Health and Safety' states that, as a minimum, new workers must be able to describe the agreed ways of working in relation to medication, describe the agreed ways of working in relation to healthcare tasks and list the tasks relating to medication and health care procedures that they are not allowed to carry out until they are competent.
