Preceptorship programmes are a vital part of the support required to recruit and retain registered nurses and nursing associates who are new to the NMC register.

Preceptorship can support newly qualified nurses and nursing associates, internationally educated nurses gaining nursing registration with the NMC, and nursing professionals who are returning to the register after a lapse of registration.
