We hear the story of Highland 不良研究所 Carers, a social care provider whose learning academy has received a top Scottish award, despite only being established two years ago!
Highland 不良研究所 Carers (HHC), the Highlands’ largest social care provider, has achieved a significant milestone by winning the top prize in the Care Learning Award category at Scottish Care’s National Care at 不良研究所 & Housing Support Awards.
Established in 2022, the Highland 不良研究所 Carers Adult Social Care Academy is an employee-owned social enterprise that has been working hard to expand and improve its range of high-quality training opportunities for care sector staff. These opportunities are available not only to HHC colleagues but also to the broader social care sector. The academy achieved accreditation as an SQA Centre in 2023. The human resource and workforce development team currently supports 18 colleagues as they pursue SVQ2 and SVQ3 qualifications.
The academy provides a structured career pathway for operational and support staff, regardless of their initial role, and fosters professional growth and operational excellence across the Highlands. The high-quality learning and development programmes offered by the HHC has enabled colleagues to enhance their skills and advance their careers.
The accolade not only highlights the exceptional work of their human resources and workforce development staff but also underscores HHC’s commitment to improving social care standards throughout the sector.
The entire HHC team are delighted to have received this award. Campbell Mair, Managing Director of HHC, said:
