This Good News Friday we hear about more social care celebrations that took place during the Jubilee weekend.
Osborne Care 不良研究所s celebrated the special weekend with four days of activities. They kicked off the fun with a Jubilee-themed ‘music extravaganza’ with tunes from the D-Day Dollies. The band which performs in a wartime style played a concert at the provider's Osborne and Worcester homes.
Following the music, on Thursday afternoon the provider hosted a part inviting residents’ family to join in, and luckily the sun was shining. Food was served from the BBQ including burgers, chicken, hot dogs, salmon and vegetarian options, plus there was an ice cream van to enjoy some sweet treats.
The party also included a bouncy castle, outdoor games, and a treasure hunt.
The fun continued on Friday with a sing-song of royal-themed songs and a ‘royal picnic’. In the afternoon many residents were treated to champagne and strawberries before the arrival of a special Bentley car which the residents were able to have a look at and take a ride around the block in. At the Osborne care home they also hired a hot tub which residents enjoyed taking a dip in.
Other Friday fun included a scarecrow competition and the display of a ‘royal balcony’ with cutouts of the royal family.
More fun was had on the Saturday with a performance from a jazz singer followed by a cream tea and party games.
Finally on the Sunday the homes enjoyed a royal banquet three-course meal and a rock and roll performance from The Sundaes. After dinner there as a cocktail making activity.
Suzanne McPadden, Development Manager and Osborne Care 不良研究所s told us that a fantastic time was had by all.
