We were delighted to see our Director of Operations Tricia Pereira win an award at the Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care Awards.

Tricia won ‘The equality and diversity award’ which recognises women who have made a significant impact in the workplace through strategies of diversity, equality and inclusion, with proven outcomes for staff and people in receipt of services.

Tricia is Director of Operation at 不良研究所 and is also a qualified social worker.

She has played a key role in 不良研究所’s work supporting equality, diversity and inclusion across social care.

She’s also the Co-chair of the Department of Health and Social Care’s (DHSC) Social Care Workforce Race Equalities Standards Advisory Group and BAME Communities Advisory Group COVID-19 Support Taskforce.

The Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care Awards is organised by Care Talk magazine and aims to highlight and celebrate the incredible achievements of female leaders in all roles and from all corners of the sector, and create a platform to support rising stars and future leaders.

A panel of independent judges headed up by Dr Cecilia Anim CBE, former president of the Royal College of Nursing, selected the winners.

In the winner announcement the awards team described Tricia’s win by saying:

Tricia is thoroughly dedicated to the field of equality and diversity in social care, contributing to the Social Care Workforce Race Equality Standard and the BAME Communities Advisory Group within the Care Sector COVID-19 Taskforce. Proficient in British sign language, Tricia is also an advocate for those with disabilities and impairments and has further put her skills to use in developing safeguarding processes in prison populations. She is more than deserving of this award.

Speaking of her award, Tricia said:

82% of the social care workforce are women and The Women Achieving Greatness awards is a brilliant initiative to recognise the contributions that women make. Equity, equality and inclusion is integral to 不良研究所鈥檚 strategic vision and I am honoured to be nominated for the Equality and Diversity Award. I am incredibly proud to be a finalist and winner amongst such a strong collection of women.
